I am an independent kitchen designer that has been planning & designing kitchens for over 16 years.. I do not sell kitchens but instead I work for you, the client. Yes you will have to pay me for what I do. But yes I am worth it. I will show you all the options open to you, get you the best possible layout & help you to achieve it.
Some will say that any kitchen company will do that for me. Wrong. What a kitchen company will provide you with is a view of what they propose for your kitchen. Some of these plans, while created by experienced planners are prepared with one clear purpose, to sell you a kitchen. They are not going to go into any great detail, unless you commit to buy their kitchen. Ask for a copy of the plans & you will have to pay them for the time spent anyway before they will release them.
Other companies will offer you free design, but as we all know you get nothing for free in this world. The “free design” has to be paid for because as we know nobody can work for free, not even kitchen designers. This will have been built into your quote, but as we know they will not sell all those kitchens that they have given free design to so they need to build this into their costs as well. These designs again are based on the measurements you provide & are prepared often by sales persons, many on a very small basic pay with commission paid on sales, with little or no real knowledge on know a kitchen is made or installed. They just need to sell you a kitchen to get paid. When you buy from one of these retailers they are charging you for the time spent on designs prepared that they did not sell.
Travel around to a few of these & you end up with various designs priced on varying quality of materials & more confused than when you started.
All plans I provide you with are fully detailed with all the information you need. I supply you with details of sockets, plumbing, venting, island services & any alterations to walls or door & window sizes. Your architect, builder, plumber & electrician will be able to work from them. I also give you a detailed list of all the units, accessories & appliances that will fit.
Now you can go shopping for your kitchen with clear plans knowing all your ideas have been explored & that you are happy that the layout will work for you. Now you can make more savings as you already have a proper kitchen layout from which to get like for like quotes from, everyone pricing the same kitchen & specification.
As the drawings we give you are so detailed any kitchen company could work from them saving them in design costs. Yes, they will need to check dimensions on site & we can amend the plans for them if required. But be sure they knock a few more percent of the quote for you.
